Math Summer Camp

summer camp in classThe two-week Math Summer Camp combines a study of number theory and the RSA encryption system with various fun activities (sport, movies etc.).
The camp is open to high school students (grades 9-12) excelling in math. The number of participants in the camp is limited and the selection is based on recommendations from the high schools and personal interviews with the applicants (applicants who passed successfully a mathematical course in the Open University do not need to provide a recommendation from their high schools).
The camp participants study in groups of five under the guidance of an academic counselor (a student from the Technion Math Department) following a special study program developed in the Technion Math Department for the camp. In addition, researchers from the Math Department give lectures to the camp participants on various mathematical topics related to number theory.
The camp activities are conducted (in Hebrew) on the Technion campus. The camp participants live in the Technion dorms on weekdays and return home for the Shabbat. Between and after their academic activities the participants are guided by camp counselors.
The tuition fee for the camp is 1500NIS. Participants excelling in the mathematical study in the camp are awarded valuable prizes.

The next Math Camp will be held on August 13-25, 2017.

More information about the Math Summer Camp is available at its Hebrew website.
